"Janice" on a self-hosted WP site
-
Hi Guys,
Its me again. I have decided to move our Blog to BlueHost. However, upon importing it to the BlueHost WP account it turns out the “Janice” is not available there.
We are very attached to this theme. Is there a way to have it also on the new account?
Cheers!

Hello Xander,
Yes, unfortunately themes and widgets cannot be moved from WordPress.com to other hosting platforms (such asWordPress.org).
https://move.wordpress.com/themes-and-widgets/If you want to use Janice out of WordPress.com, you should buy the WordPress.org version of the theme:
http://www.silocreativo.com/en/wordpress/janice-wordpress-blogger-theme/The design in both versions (wp.com vs wp.org) is the same, but some back-end elements are different (WordPress.com needs some extra elements that are not compatible with WordPress.org)
So, the logic steps should be to ask for a refund in WordPress.com [https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/] and then purchasing the theme for WordPress.org.
Hope this helps :)
Thank you again!

Quick follow up:
Can I place categories as widget in the primary menu area (it doesn’t seem to be available)

Hi Xender,
fantastic.
Yes, if you want to add the widget category to the widget area accesible via the ellipsis icon, just navigate to Appearance > Widgets and add the Category Widget to the Main Widget Area.
Note that some widgets you had in WordPress.com only will be available under WordPress.org if you install and active the Extra Widget Module form Jetpack plugin:
