I”m trying to configure an embedded HTML widget on my text widget on the sidebar and when I save the HTML, the input code is stripped out – I know this HTML works in wordpress in other themes – does this theme for some reason strip out the HTML???

The blog I need help with is: wickedloyal.wordpress.com

    Hello,

The embed code will not work because we remove JavaScript, Flash, iframe, form, and input tags for security reasons.

You can read more about this here:

Thanks for the reply and the pointer. So, how do we accomplish the objective of having input – e.g. for email signup forms (with vertical response) and in this other case, for SMS signup form with html widget?

    Hi wickedloyal,

You could use the ‘Follow Blog’ widget, or find a signup form that doesn’t use tags stripped by WP.com, otherwise as blankthemes has noted, WP.com doesn’t allow these tags, it’s not a theme setting.

    Thanks!
