In need for some layout changes

    I would also like to remove the section class=post-details from the left sidebar of the portfolio page. It’s throwing off the formatting of the whole article and it would be nice to turn it off like I was able to do with the comments or with some CSS. I’m using wordpress.com if that makes a difference. Thanks:)

    Also, when I try to preview changes made to portfolio items I get “It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try one of the links below or a search?” along with a search bar. When navigating the pages and portfolio projects everything seems to transition fine but I’m concerned this could be some kind of broken link. Any insight or guidance on this?

    Thanks Angela!
    I really hope they will be able to send a code as the other situation.

    Regarding your last question, I was indeed, referring to that : Arbre du projet : Distributeur -and- Arbre du projet : Festival. Which appears when I use the filter by category on the portfolio page.

    Thanks a lot

    Here’s CSS to remove everything in that portfolio sidebar:

    .hentry.jetpack-portfolio .post-details {
    display: none;
    }

    .hentry.jetpack-portfolio .entry-content {
    width: 100%;
    padding-left: 0;
    padding-right: 0;
    }

    eugenibrin here’s how to fix your homepage since the search is only showing with your custom look

    body.home .site-content {
    display: none;
    }

    Hi eugenibrin,

    Here’s the code to remove the titles of categories within your portfolio. Ex: It removes the text highlighted in green here: http://lift.d.pr/12GP6/3gbrGiWA

    body.archive .page-header {
    display: none;
    }

    Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Have a great night!

    The only time I am having the “page not found” issue is when I preview changes made to portfolio items from my wp dashboard. All the links seem to work fine when I’m navigating the actual site.

    prtchef –

    Hmm…would you mind starting a new thread, with the subject more representative of your ‘Page Not Found’ issue when previewing portfolio items? I’m going to mark this thread ‘resolved’ as it was specific to layout and CSS items.

    I would love to include the WP.com staff and don’t want them to get lost in this thread.

    I appreciate it so much!

    Hi Angela,

    Thanks it works.
    However I have another request. My client has changed its mind, and we’ll go with the page presentation for the portfolio (as you can see here https://mingotwo.wordpress.com/clients/). When we clic on a category, then we go back to another page like the portfolio layout (https://mingotwo.wordpress.com/project-type/distributeur/).
    So I would like to know if it’s possible to get (another!) code to get rid of the ‘filter bar’, in grey. As you can see in the menu, the filter is already applied so we would like to remove that filter. Thanks to let me know!

    Also, there’s one thing missing and it’s quite important! In the dashboard, section ‘Appearance/Customize’, we used to have on the theme a section to change the bottom text. And it’s gone! What happened?

    Thanks a lot!
    Oh, since I’m here, I have another remark : I feel like the images of the slider on the homepage are slow to load, though they are about 30ko only… I think it’s weird. What do you think?

    Hi eugenibrin,

    Hope all is going well! Can you provide a bit more clarification. Let me know which area you are looking to remove 1 or 2 shown in this image: http://lift.d.pr/1lqBl/3swvlP3R.

    I’m confirming with my dev team regarding the footer text and slider slow to load and I will update you soon.

    Have a great day!

    Hi,

    It’s the second area, not the main menu on the top right, but the whole grey bar.
    Thanks to let me know.

    Sorry to bother you but I have another concern. I want to set a bilingual site with this website, but it looks like I have to pay twice to create another site using the theme Creative (so that I can set the other site in English). Do I really have to pay twice or can’t I create a sub-site, like a sub-domain…
    Thanks for your feedback on this!

    (regarding the bilingual site, I already checked the option 3 on this support https://en.support.wordpress.com/set-up-a-multilingual-blog/ but the Premium Theme are not mentioned…)

    A premium theme can only be used on one site at a time, so if you choose to create two separate sites, you would need to purchase the theme for each site. The alternative would be to use one of the other multilingual options mentioned in the guide.

    Hi there,

    Regarding the filter bar (second area). Here’s code to remove that:
    .portfolio-filters { display: none; }

    In case your client has more items they would like to customize, I would recommend checking out these docs:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/css-basics/
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css/

    Have a great weekend!

    I forgot to reply to the footer section missing. I created a ticket for my dev team to review. I will provide an update next week.

    We also took a look at the image load and it doesn’t seem to be slow.
    Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,
    Angela

    Regarding the footer section that was added by mistake and since removed: see: https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

    May I remove the Admin Bar, credit links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?

    All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the Admin Bar (the dark bar that appears at the top of WordPress.com sites when logged in) as well as credit links in the footer, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide or alter text or links for the footer credits or the toolbar. Modifying the style of the footer text (i.e. colors and font size) is fine as long as it’s still readable. Using CSS, you can also add content like a copyright notice to the existing footer. If you would like to do that, you can ask in the CSS Customization forum and Staff or our community volunteers would be happy to help you do that.

    Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Have a great weekend!

    Hi Angela,

    Thanks for your last reply.
    I would like to add in the footer a credit, behind or after the WordPress credits. I searched in the forums but it looks like codes are unique to each theme. Can I get the one for Creative please?

    Thanks

    Hi there!

    Footers are a little tricky. Here’s more from the FAQ page:

    Please do not hide or alter text or links for the footer credits or the toolbar. Modifying the style of the footer text (i.e. colors and font size) is fine as long as it’s still readable. Using CSS, you can also add content like a copyright notice to the existing footer. If you would like to do that, you can ask in the CSS Customization forum and Staff or our community volunteers would be happy to help you do that.

    Here’s the source of that information: https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

    Have a great day!
