IDEA: PORTFOLIO BY THEME FOUNDRY: Posts/Archive by image thumbnails

  • A few years ago I had a pure photoblog on WordPress using the Duotone Theme. I loved its simplicity, elegance and, most importantly, the way you got to see a list of past posts and the Archive by month. Here’s a link to the demo model, with an Archive I called up for the Uncategorized category: https://duotonedemo.wordpress.com/category/uncategorized/.
Each thumbnail is clickable and takes you directly to that post. Clean. Simple. Easy. Beautiful.

I love my Portfolio theme by the Theme Foundry. It too is most elegant, clean and easy to use and navigate. The only thing I think could be improved is how past posts are shown for visitors to access.

The only section of my site (and I view it as a website, with a blog attached) which has anything archived is my Play blog. To access that archive of published posts, I am using only a Tag Cloud in the sidebar. Frankly, to have to scroll through many pages of posts, for me, degrades the essence of the elegance and simplicity of the Portfolio Theme.

I would like to suggest that the Portfolio Theme also have an Archive/Tag Cloud/Categories system just like the Duotone Theme. To me, doing that would enhance and complete the Portfolio Theme for me, and no doubt for other potential users too.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
