How to move older posts from home page

    Hello Leland

I’m gradually producing more content for the blog, but wondered if there was a way that older blog posts can be accessed on a blog page via a link, rather than all displayed on the front page.

I guess because the posts were originally tagged “featured” they will remain on the front while they are tagged. Do I have to untag all of the older posts to move them from the home page? Or is there another way around this?

Thank you in advance for your help.

    My blog is storieswitheverything.com

The blog I need help with is storieswitheverything.com.

    Hello,

Apologies for the delay in response. For some reason I stopped being notified of new posts like I usually have been. I’m looking into this so it doesn’t happen again.

Anyway, to respond to your inquiry:

I guess because the posts were originally tagged “featured” they will remain on the front while they are tagged

I don’t believe the “featured” tag is related to this issue you describe. It is likely because of usage of WordPress.com’s Infinite Scroll feature that would apply to other themes as well.

There are instructions for disabling Infinite Scroll in that documentation if you’d prefer. With it disabled, newly loaded posts would still be on the same page, and they would only be revealed after clicking a button (as opposed to loading automatically based on scroll position).

You’ll notice if you scroll down to a specific point on your homepage, the URL dynamically updates to: https://storieswitheverything.com/page/2/ so that would be an example on your site of what a “second page” of blog posts if Infinite Scroll functionality was not available on WordPress.com at all.

WordPress.com provides a Reading Settings screen where the number of posts per page can be adjusted as well, as documented here: https://wordpress.com/support/settings/reading-settings/

So in short, I don’t believe this issue is specifically related to Adaline. However, making some adjustments to your WordPress.com site settings should alleviate the issue you are describing in Adaline and other themes that support Infinite Scroll as well.

    Best regards,
    Leland
