    Hi there,
    There were several options for customization, which I liked, mentioned in the demo video (I watched on http://www.elmastudio.de) for the Ubud theme. However, when I paid for it, I could not find the majority of those options, e.g./namely:

    1. Option for changing the fonts’ colours and/or footer colour
    2. There is no header widgets either, only footer widgets
    3. List/grid option on the top of the page is missing
    4. In the image grid, when selecting the number of columns, – nothing or very little changes

    Can you let me know what’s going on there?

    thanks,
    Olga

    Hi Olga,

    I’m so sorry for that misunderstanding. Unfortunately the video tutorial I made for Ubud, is only for the Ubud theme on a self-hosted WordPress website (with the WordPress.org version of WordPress and your own webspace and domain).

    1. On WordPress.com it is in general not possible to change colors without paying for the Custom Design upgrade.

    2. The header option is also an option in the WordPress.com Ubud theme, you can find the documentation for this option on the Ubud support page.

    3. The list/grid option is only available on bigger desktop monitors. I just visited your website on my 15′ laptop and the option is also there.

    4. You will need to use Featured Images for all your posts to show a preview image on the blog front page (by default you only see the image borders with a light grey border line). If you upload your images you can choose to change the layout of the grid under Appearance / Customize / Theme. You will need to save your changes at the top of the customizer to save the layout change on your website.

    Hi Ellen,
    thank you for your answers.

    1. I have already paid for the custom design upgrade (if getting premium plan is what you mean), but I still cannot see options for changing font colour (including headers’ and etc)

    2. Do you mean that we can get header widgets with Ubud on wordpress.com?

    another question:
    5.How to get rid of the dates of the posts/ make them invisible on grid or list view?

    Hi Olga,

    1. If you got this premium offer then you should be able to see the font and color options in your customizer under Appearance / Customize. Do you not see these options there?

    2. The About header section in Ubud is not a widget, but instead it is managed in the theme options. You can find the options under Appearance / Customize / Theme.

    Regarding the dates, you can hide them with custom CSS (under Appearance / Custom CSS):

    .entry-date {
    display: none!important;
    }

    Hi Ellen,
    1. yes, the link you sent (premium offer) is correct- I have got it/paid for it more than 2 months ago, but I am still unable to see an option for changing the colour of the font. There is an option for changing the background colour in ‘colours and backgrounds’, SIZE of the font (3 options) and the actual font in ‘fonts’, but nothing for changing the colour of font, nowhere else. My machine is MacBook Pro os x yosemite 10.10.3. Please let me know what can be done there ( I need dark grey colour)

    2. thank you- it worked!

    best wishes
    Olga

    Hi Olga,
    okay, I think now that I might misunderstood you before. Do you want to change the default dark text color? This could only be done by using custom CSS like so:

    body {
        color: #191919;
    }

    You need to use your own hex value, this is still the default one.
    Please let me know, if this is not helpful to you.

    Hi Ellen,
    thank you, we seemed to sort it out now.

    Here is another question:
    We are having problems getting the bottom 2 images to align side by side in the following page:-
    http://olgajurgenson.net/2015/06/30/when-your-future-life-flashes-before-your-eyes/

    As you can see the 6 images above have lined up ok but the bottom 2 split to different lines even though they are the same size, alignment settings etc. as all the others. We have looked at the html code and tried everything else we can think of to fix this but with no success.
    Is there a way to fix this?

    Alternatively is there a different way to get the same outcome on a posts or static page?

    Thanks
    Best
    Olga

    Hi Olga,

    I’m happy that you were able to fix the font color issue. Regarding the images in the grid, did you already fix this, too? I just visited the page and the images were aligned correct in my browser.

    Please let me know, if you need further help with this.
    Best, Ellen
