How to add content in third column of "Featured Content" section

Can you give instructions on how to add content in the third column of the “Featured Content” section at the bottom of the page? In the demo these are two widgets. The first one is labeled “Impact Partners” and the second is “Shop” and the third is “social.” The setup instructions talk about adding “featured” tags to blog posts so they appear in the left two columns, but don’t mention how to add these three widgets to this section.

thank you for using our theme.
This sidebar in the demo uses Image Widget, Social Icons and another Image Widget. You can add whatever widget you want in the sidebar, it’s up to you. We used this three but you can use whatever you want and need.

I’ve tried adding widgets to the default sidebar and they did not show up on the front page. Is there something special that needs to be done?
