How to add author box?

  1. Hello -

In the theme description / demo I can see that there is an author box below the post to display who wrote the post. How do I add this?

The blog I need help with is

  2. Hi!
That's a multi-author post box. When there are multiple blog posts published by more than one author it will show up.

If there will not be multiple authors, another option is to add an Author Widget to the widgetized area. There are a couple types of author widgets available on

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'm happy to help!

  3. I do see the different type of author widgets, but I'm having trouble in finding one that would only display who wrote the post. There are multiple authors on the blog (but currently no multi-author posts) and I can't distinguish / don't see who wrote the post on the published page.

  4. Has more than one author published a post so far? (ex. are all the Articles thus far by Aileen or has Tams posted an article?).

  5. Both authors have posted and another author is scheduled to post as well. They both have been given administrator rights to the blog if that makes a difference. Thanks.

  6. One more question...Within the profile of each author, is the field called 'meta description to use for Author page' filled out?

Once this is filled out it should work. Let me know.

  7. Sorry - I don't see this field on the profile page. When I have the navigation bar, should it be under: Users > My Profile?

  8. Yes it should be under Users > Biographical Info.
Let me know if that works.

  9. I still don't see this option. The sub-categories under Users are All Users, Invite New, My Profile, and Personal Settings. I searched each page for the field "meta description ..." and did not see it. Maybe there is something else that needs to be done prior to this?

  10. Hello,

In the admin side of your site go to Users > My Profile. You will see a bunch of biographical fields (Name, Email, Location, etc). The 'description' mentioned above is the 'About You' field. Be sure all authors fill this field out.

That should activate the multi-author post block.

  11. Hello Caleb,

Thanks for the advice. That did the trick.

  12. Glad we could help! If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
