    Hi there,

    I’m afraid there’s no HTML access available with a premium subscription. Just Custom CSS.

    We can change the size of featured images with Custom CSS, although they may be a tad blurry if you’re trying to make them bigger.

    Can you elaborate on what you had in mind? I may be able to help.

    Regards,

    Oh, I think you’re talking about Novara’s Featured Content functionality. There is no Custom CSS or HTML required to get this set up.

    Instructions can be found in the Novara Setup Guide in the first section: https://wordpress.com/theme/novara/setup

    Does this help?

    Not really tbh,

    I just want to make some featured images bigger than others on the home page like the this template example: https://wordpress.com/theme/novara

    For now all the squares are the same size:

    (366px X 366px)

    Yes, that is precisely what Novara’s Featured Content feature does. This is what is being used on the Novara demo site you are referencing.

    1. Set a tag called “featured” on each post you would like to be bigger
    2. Go to Customizer, open the panel labeled Featured Content
    3. Set the tag “featured” (set in step #1) as your Featured Content tag and save
    4. At this point, the squares of any post tagged “featured” will be bigger, as you see on the Novara demo site

    Let me know if you get stuck on any of these steps so I can provide more instruction to get your website looking how you want it to.

    Thanks!

    Hi Leland,

    Its working, thanks!
    https://rollsparis.wordpress.com/

    However, is it possible to customize the size of each post or featured post with particular sizes? We want to give the home page a special layout with one big feature, squares and rectangle

    thanks!

    @leland

    As you can see i updated the css to give the article “commandez” the size i wanted but its really blurry!

    Here is the css i used:

    #post-149 {
    width: 732px;
    height: 366px;
    }

    It is, however as you have discovered, the featured image sizes will be a problem as they are expected to be square-shaped in all cases, not rectangles.

    It’s not possible to adjust the featured image size with just Custom CSS. This requires a change to the PHP code (see add_image_size if you’re curious) which you do not have access to.

    I’m afraid at this point we’re going beyond the scope of theme support as this is a customization request. To accomplish this you would probably need to hire a developer to customize the theme’s PHP code, and switch to a WordPress hosting plan that allows code customization beyond Custom CSS.

    #post-149 {
    width: 732px;
    height: 366px;
    }

    When writing Custom CSS, you may want to keep in mind that people may be viewing your website on mobile phones. When you have fixed pixel widths like this, it will cause problems with mobile responsiveness.

    Leland
