How do I change the FONT and COLOR of my menu bar?

HELP! I just bought the “Gallery” theme. I chose it specifically for the layout, which works fine and looks great. My problems are all about the MENU BAR.

    1. The horizontal menu bar is white only and I want to color it.
    2. The drop down labels will not accept the colors I give them, although it’s supposed to be customizable. They end up in very weird colors instead and the text does NOT adjust in color contrast (eg. if the color of the drop-down tab becomes navy, the text is still black instead of changeing to white or something more legible)
    3. WORST PROBLEM – the font is small and hard to read and I can’t figure out how to change it.

I sure hope these things can be changed. If not, I’ll have to ask for a refund on the theme, and start my search for a good theme all over again.

PS – Do I have to purchase the Custom Design pkg? (I already have the Premium plan)

The blog I need help with is

    Hi Dani,

Thank you so much for reaching out and thanks for choosing Gallery!!
You do have to purchase the Custom Design package to be able to change colors and even add CSS if you would like.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

First off, thank you Angela for the response.

Can you elaborate on the Custom Design issue? When I go to the link provided, it says “As of September 1, 2014, Custom Design is now a feature of the Premium and Business Plans.” I already have a Premium plan — I don’t see anywhere to purchase a Custom Design feature. Nor do I see how much it costs.

Oh thanks for letting me know Dani! I can’t tell what type of account you have. However, the staff can :) I have included them in this thread to see if they can help out more regarding the colors and fonts.

They should be in touch soon.

    Thanks for your help! :)

Since you already have the Premium plan, you have all the Custom Design features active and ready to be used.

Angela should be able to help you with the specific custom CSS needed to change the look of the elements you’re aiming to tweak! Once you have the CSS, you can then enter it in the CSS editor in the Customizer and it will take effect on your site.

    Wow, that was fast!

I assume I’d need to insert a separate CSS “formula” for each of the following —

    1. the actual font and font size used in the menu
    2. the color of the menu bar
    3. the highlight color of the menu (the spot that changes color when you hover your mouse over it to make a menu drop down)
    4. the color of the menu font

I used to customize the style sheets years ago in MySpace, but I think I need some help here.

PS – As a customer, I really, really need to ask this – why aren’t menu appearance changes built into the theme? Especially when it costs $75? Everything else on this otherwise great theme is customizable except the menu that will appear across the middle of every single page? Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

    Hi Dani,

Thanks for your patience! I see you are no longer using Gallery. If you are still interested in these CSS changes?

I will have my dev team provide some suggestions.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
