hovering over words and images

    good afternoon,

    Three questions:

    1. I would like to manage the appearance of linked words and/or the words in the menu when hovering over them. The thing is I have changed the color of all the text in my page, from black to purple (#7512f6), but the linked words/menu words turn black when hovering.

    2. When hovering over a featured image in the static front page a small title text appears. I would like that title to have the same size, color and font as my base font (that is 30px, #7512f6, Libre Baskerville). However I still want it to underline as it does by default.

    3. Is it possible to remove the follow button in the lower right corner?

    The blog I need help with is: sofiadjerf.com

    Hi Sofia,

    I’m so super sorry that I missed to answer your questions earlier. Here are the answers:

    1. You would need to add the following CSS for your links:

    a:hover, #site-nav ul li a:hover {color: #7512f6 !important;}

    2. Here you would need the following CSS:

    .jetpack-portfolio-shortcode .entry-header h2.entry-title a {
    color: #7512f6 !important;
    border-bottom-color: #7512f6 !important;
    font-size: 30px !important;

    3. I think you have already removed the button or?

    Please just let me know, if you need further help.
    Best, Ellen

    Thank you for these helpful CSS codes. No worries about your not answering earlier.

    About my question no 3 and the follow button, the strange thing is it still appears in both Firefox and Safari on my computer. I went through everything in “settings” but it doesn’t seem to fix it. Do you have the answer?

    Two new questions:
    1. I also have another question: Is it possible to use the “search” section as just a text line. That is I do not want the search function but I would like to use the position and switch the word “search” to “Sofia Djerf”. Is that possible?

    2. I also would like to be able to manage the margins between the images in the static front page. Is it possible?

    Big thanks!

    Theme Author

    Hi Sofia,

    regarding the follow button: I think you should be able to deactivate it completely via Settings → Reading → Follower Settings.

    1. Unfortunately this is not possible, since you would need to change the theme file for this (which is not possible on WordPress.com).

    2. Yes, could could do this, but you would need the custom CSS feature. Then you could use the following custom CSS:

    @media screen and (min-width: 1150px) {
    .jetpack-portfolio-shortcode .jetpack-portfolio { margin: 50px;}

    50px is the default value, it’s the whitespace around each portfolio image. You can change it to your own value.

    Best, Ellen
