Home page, about me and widgets on the left

    Hey friends,
    I’m sorry I have some problems with the design. Here my questions.
    I’d like to replicate the same organization that appear on the “adventure theme” and there are some things that I can’t do.
    1. How to put some images on the head that change automatically and how to put a tex and link to specific URL this images?
    2. How to put an “about me” head that will be statically on a HOME PAGE and before that could appear the blog posts?
    3. How to put the FOLLOW ME with the social media links under this “about me” header?
    4. How to put the widgets at the left and not at the right? I tried to put some widgets at the left and they don’t appear on the web.

    Hi Francisco,

    Glad to hear you got most of these sorted. For the featured slider you will need to follow these steps:

    1) Create a new tag which you will assign to the posts you want to display in the slider
    2) Create new posts and assign these to the tag created in 1. Upload a featured image (this can be done in the bottom right corner in the featured image meta-box) to each post. This is the image which displays in the slider.
    3) If you would like to show an excerpt above the picture as in the demo you will need to add text in the ‘Excerpt’ meta-box of each post.
    4) Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Featured Content and assign the tag you created in 1 to the Featured tag box.

    This should display your slider as in the demo. Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Hey Rebecca, thanks very much. I’ll go on it soon.

    I have another question. In the category I put on the static page (HOME) under the ABOUT topic, the design for the posts are different than in the BLOG page (for the same posts). The title in these posts in the HOME page appear on the photo and it looks not very good
    ¿Could I make something to have the same design for these posts as in the BLOG?

    Hi Francisco,

    The only way you could possibly change this in the homepage is if you added the embed the image into the post rather than adding it as a featured image. Although if some of these posts are in the slider it won’t work to do so.
