Hide the sidebar widgets throughout site?

    Handmade is referred to as a one- or two-column theme on the themes gallery, but I can’t figure out how to make it act as a one-column theme.

    What I want to do (or at least try it and see how it looks :-) ) is to remove all of the sidebar widgets and allow the content to stand alone on the page. (I’ll put some extra content in the footer.)

    When I remove all sidebar widgets, the theme provides its own default widgets. Is there any way to make it stop doing that?

    I’ve been made aware of the full-width page theme, but that’s not what I want. I want to try having no sidebar widgets throughout the site.

    Hello,
    In order to do that, you need premium access to Custom CSS, at which point you can use the following to make all pages full width:

    #right-column{display: none;}
    #left-column{width: 100%;}

    Note that elements in the left column are designed for a sidebar and may not look right when stretched full width, so other adjustments may be necessary. Please see the following resource for that:
