Hero Slides covering up (custom) menu on tablets?

    Hi Luke –

    I’m using Soundcheck on WordPress.com. On my Android tablet the hero slides appear to be covering up the custom menu, it’s visible only for a split second if the hero slide transitions are shaky (I am aware that that would be a tablet issue). I’ve heard similar comments from iPad users. The bottom line is that the menu is not always visible.

    By way of background, I’ve made the hero slide images to be 440 pixels in height (as suggested somewhere in your documentation). I’ve checked the ‘display special theme for iPad users’ box in the Appearance > iPad menu. I have disabled the mobile theme.

    Do you know of anything that would help in this case?

    Thanks,
    Amir.

    If you have the “Display special theme for iPad users” checked, the site will be using a WordPress.com specific theme for the iPad. The theme doesn’t have any control over that.

    How does the theme demo look on the iPad? It appears to be working fine for me. The theme does not come with any mobile/responsive specific styles, so the site should appear as it does on a desktop.

    Thanks. As I don’t own one I will check for iPad’s later and post my findings, but the ASUS tablet I have running on Android displays the theme demo with the same issue: the menu (and title logo) is fully overlapped by the hero slides. The bottom of the slides is aligned with the bottom of the menu.

    I’m using a standard browser that was preinstalled on the tablet.

    Unfortunately, I don’t have all the tablets and phones to test on. In any case, I’ve taken note. In the future, I haven plans to have a “responsive” for Soundcheck, but as of now, it just has the desktop layout.

    Hi. Do you have a timeframe in mind for creating a “responsive” for Soundcheck?

    @danagage No, no timeframe.
