    Hello Philip,

    In “Front Page mode”, the Featured image appears behind the home menu, whilst in default page mode, it appears below a first block with the menu. Is this it or is it possible to have the transparency effect also for other pages?

    Kind regards,

    Hugues

    The blog I need help with is: finmetrics.com

    Hi Hugues,

    The thing is that the menu would need to be transparent against something, so even if your menu was transparent on internal pages, the fact that it would be against a solid color, in this case white, means that it wouldn’t really look transparent. Does that make sense?

    No, what I mean is that, if I use the same featured image for internal pages than for my front page, it appears below the menu bar instead of behind.

    Yes, this is actually by design. If you would like for pages with a featured image to have the navigation menu on top of the featured image, then you could use CSS that’s similar to the following:

    @media only screen
    and (min-width: 640px) { /* Desktop */
    	.page-id-400 .site-header {
    		background-color: rgba( 0, 0, 0, .5 );
    		position: absolute;
    		width: 100%;
    	}
    }

    You might need to play with that a bit for the right page ID and also the color. If there’s a specific page that you’d like it to work on, let me know. Unfortunately we can’t go back and make this change inside of the theme since it’s launched and there are a lot of sites that would be affected by such a change. Custom CSS should be able to handle it fine, though.
