Help modifying the sidebar

    I have two questions about making changes to the sidebar for my personal website. For reference, the blog in question is

    1. The title of my website is “James R Howe”, but just because I do not have the room to fit my full name, “James R. Howe VI” all on one line. Is there a way I can either make the title text smaller in the sidebar or widen the sidebar itself so that my full name fits neatly on one line in the sidebar?

    2. I want to link to two social media sites used by scientists, Google Scholar and ResearchGate, in my social media menu below. However, their logos are not included in the theme and just show up as generic link symbols. How could I make the social media menu display their logos? For reference, this is the Google Scholar logo and this is the ResearchGate logo.

    Thank you so much for your help!

    The best way to fit your full name in the title is to reduce the font size of the site title. You can do this using the following custom CSS:

    .site-title {
      font-size: 24px;

    Adding custom social media logos is a bit involved and would require uploading logos and using custom css. The best place for advanced CSS questions like this would be the CSS Customizations forum here:

    I hope that helps.
