When loading the ovation theme on an iPad held in the LANDSCAPE position, the video header shows the youtube video thumbnail, just frozen there, with the youtube play button displaying. Here is an example (notice the play button behind the word “Reform”): https://reforminus.files.wordpress.com/2020/09/img_0009.png
This only happens when LOADING the page while in the landscape position. It does not do it if you load the page in the portrait position and turn it to landscape.

Is this still an issue? When viewing your site using Safari on the iPad, I can load the page in landscape and see the video playing.
Hi, yeah the issue still exists. If you load the page in desktop mode the video does play. But if you load the page in landscape, without desktop mode being on, you get that thumbnail with the play button.
Hmm, I was able to get this to happen intermittently but not consistently. The theme uses the WordPress header video functionality and doesn’t do much of anything else other than rely on the default setup. It seems like there may be an issue from time to time loading the YouTube video fast enough to then autoplay, otherwise, it appears frozen as you had mentioned. I’ll make a note of this and see if there is anything we can do to help the issue.
