    Hi there,

    I wanted to see how I could get rid of the extra space near my header and footer.

    Also, how can I fit my primary menu on one line?

    Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is paritashahhealing.com.

    Hi!

    I am seeing your menu on one line. If your screen is smaller it may spill over to two lines but this is part of the design and mobile responsiveness. However, you can try adding the following CSS to your Customize > CSS menu to keep it all on one line (this will only work depending on how many menu items you have):

    .main-navigation {
    	width: 100%;
    }

    As for the extra space, can you be a bit more specific? What extra space are you referring to?

    Thanks,

    Sonia

    Thanks! That snippet helped to put the menu on one line.

    I have extra space below my main menu, and at the bottom of the page (on top of my footer). Since the image at the top is white, you can’t see the extra space. However at the bottom, you can. Please let me know if we can get rid of that.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi again,

    For footer space, you can add the following CSS. Make sure to place it after what I’ve already given you.:

    .home .page:not(article) .entry-content {
        margin-bottom: 0;
    }

    .home .site-content {
        padding-bottom: 0;
    }

    As for the homepage, the white space I’m seeing looks fine to me. Could you send me a screenshot of what you are seeing?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

    Thanks but that didn’t fix the problem. I kept that code in the advanced CSS section. Please let me know if you can suggest anything else for the footer.

    Thank you!

    Hi Sonia,

    Another thing I could use assistance with is increasing the column width on all my pages and posts. I’d like my content to take up about 75% of the screen width.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi there,

    For the footer space try the following CSS instead of the previous one I gave you:

    body.home .entry-content {
        margin-bottom: 0;
    }

    .home .site-content {
        padding-bottom: 0;
    }

    As for widening the page, there seems to be a lot of extra CSS on the page coming from different plugins, so try out the following and let me know if it works throughout the site. Add it below the previous snippets:

    @media screen and (min-width: 1023px){
        .single .entry-content .post-content,
        .single .entry-content .page-content,
        .page:not(article) .entry-content .post-content {
            width: 75%;
        }
    }

    Hi Sonia, the footer one didn’t work. However the other one did. Thanks!

    If you come up with anything to get rid of the footer space, please let me know. Thank you very much.

    Hi again,

    I just tested this again and it’s working fine for me. How very strange.

    I’m not seeing the snippet right now. Can you add it in and let me know once it’s there so I can take a look?

    Thanks!

    The footer’s working! Thanks a lot!

    I might’ve changed something at the top though. There’s extra space at the header. Here’s a screenshot

    Also, is it possible to make the navigation bar even wider? Thanks!

    Make sure the CSS from this reply is still there. The first line is what may be missing.

    As for the menu, you can add this to give it full width:

    /* Make menu full width */

    .top-menu-wrap {
        max-width: 100%;
    }

    If you ever need additional help with CSS you can also take a look at the dedicated CSS forum.

    Hope that helps!
