Gaining full control of left and right sidebars

I wanted this theme because I love the option to have up to four feature stories, and I wanted a sidebar on the left and the right. What I did not realize was that I wouldn’t be able to have control over the left side bar. It is pretty useless to me to have only content going there that is involved with feature stories.

I’m not too fluent in CSS, but if someone was explicit (for dummies), and if it is possible, I’d like to make my left sidebar function like the right, where I can add widgets and not have the feature stuff.

Also, right now I’m at I’m planning to move to in the not too distant future. Would I need to do this first?

I have enabled Premium on this site.

I’m afraid it’s not possible to have the sidebar on the left be a proper sidebar. It only supports featured categories. It’s not possible to replace the sidebar using CSS. CSS only allows you to edit colours and sizes of content.

If you’re planning to move to a self hosted site then you will not be able to transfer the theme. Themes aren’t transferable from unfortunately. This is detailed on the premium themes support page here:

Sorry the reply is not more positive :S

Well, thanks for explaining. I’m fairly new at this, so I’m learning as I go, sometimes, the hard way.

No problem – let me know if you have any other questions. I’ll help if I can!

If you decide the theme isn’t for you then you can request a refund if purchased within the last 30 days. There’s info on doing this here:

I’m having a similar problem with the left sidebar. Mine used to feature a couple posts from each category (I had around 6). When I recently re-named a few of my categories, the featured category list was somehow reduced to only 2. How can I expand this so it features a few categories on the left sidebar ?

Hi – I don’t know the answer but I would make sure to check the theme settings in WP Admin > Appearance > Theme Options

You can select the categories you want to display there.

In the future if you could create a new topic in the forum for each problem that would be appreciated. Makes it easier for me to track what has and hasn’t been replied to.
