    Found a serious issue with Video posts when rotating from landscape to portrait on iPads. When doing this, the video post overlaps the post below it. This is happening to any video post I do.
    Please see the following screenshot and video of the issue…

    Also, when moving back from landscape to portrait, there is a huge gap in space between the video, normal posts and and other blockquotes. Those pictures are below as well.
    Please see the following screenshots of the issue…

    The blog I need help with is dailycdev.com.

    Also, when clicking refresh on my site, only the video posts have issues.
    They take a long time to load and have a lot of space at the bottom of them before finally my page loads. Something is wrong with the theme’s code for video posts. They have been slowing down my site since adding them in.
    Please see the video of the issue below…

    This is the third issue I have with the video post.
    Please keep me updated when all these issues are fixed.
    I am humbly waiting on your fixes to be in place.
    I will be super ecstatic once your fixes are in place for sure, as I am sure many other customers you serve that do video posts.
    Thanks.

    The third issue with the page delay while loading the video post and having extra space at the bottom of it, upon refreshing the page, also happens with blockquotes and normal posts I just now noticed.

    Hi – thanks for the report. I see the problem and am looking in to it.

    I’ve made a few css changes that will improve things, but I think I will need to make code changes which require wordpress.com to deploy the fixes so it may take a few days to start seeing the improvements since what with it being the weekend now.

    Yeah, just keep me posted on the fix.
    Here are the issues at hand:
    1. When rotating from landscape to portrait mode on ipads, the video posts overlap the post below it. Also, on a Windows Computer, shrinking the page from left to right, you will also see this same affect. So it affects a certain smaller resolution.
    2. When moving from landscape to portrait mode on iPads there is a huge gap in space between the video, normal posts and other blockquotes.
    3. When visiting the site or clicking F5 to refresh, some blockquotes, video or normal posts take a while to refresh and while the site is thinking, there is extra space below those posts until the site loads. Then the extra space goes away. This is in itself slowing down my site and making it take a lot longer to load.

    Hi,

    We seem to be facing the same issue with our site as well. The video overlaps on different modes, landscape to potrait and also for cell phones.
    Please do keep s updated as well once this is fixed

    Hi there – this should be much improved now. Possibly not perfect, but minimised considerably.

    Regarding the original point 3 – unfortunately there will always be space between posts until the content has loaded. This is a side effect of using a javascript plugin that positions the content. The plugin can not position the content until it has loaded since it doesn’t know how much space it will take up.

    In terms of the page being slow to load, this will be worse if you have a lot of images or video since they have larger file sizes and naturally take longer to load anyway. Video is the worst offender since it also requires the browser to load a plugin to display the content.

    However – the resizing of the page and mispositioning of videos should now be resolved.

    Thank you for fixing the two issues.
    On iPads, using Chrome, there are still left over issues….
    1. When fast scrolling the page up or down, in landscape or portrait mode, there is temporary white space that appears and then goes away after scrolling some more. It is not smooth scrolling.
    2. When rotating my iPad from portrait to landscape the wordpress profile page temporarily shows up and then goes away.

    Here is a video of both these issues.

    This sounds like a browser rendering thing. I’m not sure how much can be done to resolve this – however you could try adding this to your custom css. I don’t know if it will fix things but it might help.

    .content-posts article {
        -webkit-transform: translate3d(0, 0, 0);
        transform: translate3d(0, 0, 0);
    }

    If that doesn’t work you could try the following – although this may cause other unforeseen issues.

    *:not(html) {
        -webkit-transform: translate3d(0, 0, 0);
        transform: translate3d(0, 0, 0);
    }

    The does not fix the two issues I described.
    The issues occur in Chrome on an iPad but not in Safari.
    I hope that helps you narrow down the problem.
    Thanks.

    Hi Paul – I’m afraid this appears to be a browser rendering quirk – presumably to save processing power/ battery on mobile devices. I’m not aware of any other tricks that force things to display (such as the one above) so I don’t think I can fix it. I’m not even sure it can be fixed – but if it can then it’s not something I know how to do. Sorry about that.
