FOOTER: Icons, adding new ones

I’ve just gone ‘Premium’ so that I can change the CSS. At this time, the only change I wish to make is in the Footer for The Portfolio Theme by Theme Foundry, which I use.

Only the RSS feed icon appears there at present. I do not wish to use any of the installed social media services, but wish to add two (and possibly three, but I’m still deciding) links. One to my Red Bubble site and another to my Zazzle account (I’ve still to set up properly). The links to also show the appropriate site icon.

How can I make these additions in the Customize > CSS, please?

The blog I need help with is:

    Hi there,

Unfortunately these changes cannot be made with CSS alone. You would need to be able to edit your theme files and that’s not possible on

So sorry that wasn’t the answer you were hoping for.

I guess my going on to the Premium Plan was all for nought! ;o)

I notice that in Appearance > Theme Options > Footer, there are the empty fields for the various social media URLs.

I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but perhaps to have at least two more empty fields (and called ‘Other website URL’) where you can add links, like the type that I want, eg to my Red Bubble and Zazzle sites, and that will also pull up the logo/icon for those sites. Maybe that is the way to handle it. I have no doubt other bloggers would like to have this option, too, since so many people have other sites, not just the standard social media ones. Hope you’ll consider it, thanks in advance. Your grateful WP blogger…

Thank you for the feedback. We have no plans for updating Portfolio at this time — and if you needed more customization options, your best bet would be to go self-hosted, honestly. Even the social media widget that offers has limited options.

Let us know if you have any other questions about theme features.

Well, thanks for your idea re the self-hosting; however, I don’t think I need to go that far!! I’m a simple-needs person.

Re the footer icons, and all the other suggestions I’ve made, are now out-there and I hope next time you do decide to update the theme, they will be considered. I am loving the theme … :O)
