I am wondering how to get the figcaptions to show like it is seen on the styles page. Currently the captions seem to override image-sizes not allowing to show images in full-width or for example in class=”stretch”. Am I missing something here?
All help appreciated.
The blog I need help with is svenseebeck.me.
The image with the caption shown in the theme demo on this page was added using the old WP Admin (My Sites → WP Admin).
The new admin interface seems to do it’s own thing when adding media to the content and adds a different image size other than the one you insert. If you look at the HTML editor, you’ll see that it’s not using the full image size. I’m not a fan of the new admin interface myself and tend to work in the old admin interface.
Sidenote: I noticed you have some good quotes on your site. You can try adding quotes in the following format which should help with some of the styling.
<blockquote>Anyone can make the simple complicated. Creativity is making the complicated simple. <cite>~ Charles Mingus</cite></blockquote>
Thanks for your help. I just figured it out. Aside from using the old *admin-interface*, another issue was, that I had the image set to alignnone, whereas aligncenter adds the styling from the demo page that I was looking. Cool. Problem solved.
Thanks for your help and the hint for the quotes.
Great, glad to hear to hear you got it figured out. Also, thanks for the troubleshooting update. I’ll look into why the styles were limited to the alignnone class, but I’m not sure if it could be updated to account for the other classes without breaking other sites expected results.
No worries. I figured out that if I hard-code it and simply paste the code into it, it does work. I doubt I will update my galleries often anyway.
