    Hi everybody !

    Ok, I need your help for some changes i want to make on my new website (with WordPress Demand premium account).

    1) I would like to change the color of the text under the widget’s images, but after a lot of hours on the css manager i didn’t found how to do it ! Basically the color is always grey (#959595) and i just want to change it in white !

    2) I would like to know if it’s possible to change the footer (it’s for a professionnal website, so I need to put some informations in the footer). It was impossible for me to find an option in the manager to do it ! Even if it’s not possible to put a text in the footer, it is to just put an image ?

    3) Also i would like to change the text “SELECT ANY CATEGORY” and translate it in french (my website is in french, that’s why :) ), do you know how i can manage to do this ?

    Thank you very much for your help !

    The blog I need help with is: alterisland.com

    Hi Mukkinn,

    Let’s review:

    1) This CSS will alter the text color (adjust as desired):

    .wp-caption .wp-caption-text {
        color: #fff;
    }

    2) You can add text to the footer, but not an image. The CSS would be something like:

    .footer-left::before {
        content: "Content above";
    }

    .footer-left::after {
        content: "Content After";
    }

    Please also note that you are not allowed to hide or otherwise remove the footer information from the theme, as per here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

    May I remove the Admin Bar, credit links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?

    All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the Admin Bar (the dark bar that appears at the top of WordPress.com sites when logged in) as well as credit links in the footer, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide or alter text or links for the footer credits or the toolbar. Modifying the style of the footer text (i.e. colors and font size) is fine as long as it’s still readable. Using CSS, you can also add content like a copyright notice to the existing footer. If you would like to do that, you can ask in the CSS Customization forum and Staff or our community volunteers would be happy to help you do that.

    You will need to remove the ‘display: none;’ from the ‘.footer-left’ class.

    3) If you have your site set to French, and the ‘Select any category’ is not translating, then likely there is no translation for it. I will tag a member of WPcom staff to let you know how you can contribute to the theme to add this translation (for yourself and others).

    Thanks!

    The French (France) translation for Demand is almost ready to go live, at 84% complete:

    https://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/themes/demand/fr/default

    Translations need to be 85% complete to go live automatically, so if you would be able to add a few more translations to bring it up over that threshold, just let me know when you’re done and I’ll ask a GlotPress validator to approve them. Once approved, they will go live on your site within 24-48 hours. Thanks!

    Thank you very much for your answers !

    1) The CSS for the text color work great, thank you very much ! I was afraid to turn crazy with this little one.

    2) I’m now able to put some text in the footer, again, thank you very much ! That helped me a lot ! The fact to disable the original text was not intentionnal, i just didn’t wanted to show everybody my different tries on the footer css ;)

    However, i have some difficulties to perform a good text composition in the footer (for example, i don’t understand how it’s possible to align the text in center or right, it’s always stuck at left, which is frustrating).

    Also, I don’t know if it’s possible to jump lines with the text, like paragraphs. Maybe you know the answer ?

    3) Thank you all for your details and solutions about the French translation, I just finished to translate everything untranslated on the GlotPress website, normally everything is ok and can be given to the GlotPress validator for final checking ;)

    Best regards

    Thanks for adding those translations to GlotPress. They’ve been validated, and should go live within 24 hours. If you don’t see them on your site within that time frame, please let me know.

    Hi Mukkinn,

    Let’s review:

    2) Because the text is being set on the .footer-left class, it will always be aligned left. This is more of a workaround than a complete solution, as there’s no other way to add text to the footer.

    Thanks!
