Few design questions

    Hi,

    Loving Veni so far and have added some custom CSS already which hopefully looks good.

    I have a few design-based questions which I would like help with:

    1. On the socials menu, I would love to be able to add Soundcloud and a Mailchimp Newsletter landing page link there as well. The theme supports Facebook and Instagram CSS Icons but doesn’t seem to recognise the Soundcloud and Newsletter ones. Is there a way of adding these icons: Soundcloud (“\eac3”); Headphones (“\e910”) and Newsletter (“\e945).

    2. I’ve changed the CSS on the cat-links (e.g Arts, Music etc) so that they have a black background and white text. Is there a way of having a different colour for different cat-links e.g Arts would be red, Music would be blue?

    3. At the moment I have set the footer up to have 3 columns of widgets (2 in each column.) On the demo, it seems as though there are 4 columns of widgets in the footer. Is there a way of having 4 separate columns in the footer instead of 3? If not, is there CSS that would make my existing widgets fit the footer better?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello,

    Here are the answers on your questions:
    1. Q: On the socials menu, I would love to be able to add Soundcloud and a Mailchimp Newsletter landing page link there as well. The theme supports Facebook and Instagram CSS Icons but doesn’t seem to recognise the Soundcloud and Newsletter ones. Is there a way of adding these icons: Soundcloud (“\eac3”); Headphones (“\e910”) and Newsletter (“\e945).
    A: Unfortunately no. We are using a custom icon font to display social networks. Changes will require icon file update in theme core – the good thing is that I can ask our developers about this, but the development process and update can take up to two weeks.

    **2. Q:** I’ve changed the CSS on the cat-links (e.g Arts, Music etc) so that they have a black background and white text. Is there a way of having a different colour for different cat-links e.g Arts would be red, Music would be blue?
    **A:** Sure, please add this class to Custom CSS:

    .entry-header .cat-links a[href*=category-slug] {
    background-color: #fff;
    color: #000;
    }

    Replace category-slug with single category slug, and dummy hex color values with the desired one. Repeat for each category.

    **3. Q:** At the moment I have set the footer up to have 3 columns of widgets (2 in each column.) On the demo, it seems as though there are 4 columns of widgets in the footer. Is there a way of having 4 separate columns in the footer instead of 3? If not, is there CSS that would make my existing widgets fit the footer better?
    **A:** *Veni* theme has three footer widget areas. However, the first area will display navigation menu widgets inline, and other widgets will be stacked. So it looks like there are four areas, while in real there are only three.

    Thank you,
    – Djordje
