    Hello, I recently installed Romero theme and I’m having issues with “featured” tag and featured posts. I’d like to have 1+3 featured posts on main page so i decided to add “featured” tag just to 4 posts. Whenever i increase the posts with that tag, though, the theme automatically put the posts in the featured spot, reaching the 1+6 size.
    If I try to remove the “featured” tag from older posts to scale back down to 1+3, it just keep reappearing in the article. Is there a way to edit CSS to reduce the featured content to 1+3 for good? Thanks.

    The blog I need help with is: denjinden.com

    Hi there – thanks for the message. The best way to display just 4 featured posts, is to ensure you only ever tag 4 posts as featured.

    So, if you want to add a new featured post, you will need to add the tag to the new post, and then remove the tag from an older one.

    To hide the second row of posts you could use the following custom css:

    .showcase article.post-archive:nth-of-type(4),
    .showcase article.post-archive:nth-of-type(5),
    .showcase article.post-archive:nth-of-type(6) {
        display: none;
    }

    Thanks – Ben

    Thanks Ben! It Works like a charm! I am then going to ask something else, still related to the featured posts. I used the padding-bottom reduction to 30% to have a smaller featured Image and It Works on desktop. When i visit the blog through mobile though the template gets messy, both on the home and articles Pages. Is there a way to prevent that from happening?

    Oh yeah – that’s not ideal. You could use this to target screens larger than mobile and then the mobile layout will use the default

    @media only screen and (min-width: 600px) {
    article.featured-post {
        padding-bottom: 30%;
    }
    }
