featured post not showing

  Hi there

  I have just purchased the theme and I’m trying to get the set up and look of it ready.
  I have created a post and a page, tried various things re: making each a sticky or not etc and nothing i have tried so far makes the post or page appear in the home colour section under the header – it appears as a normal page so the recent stories doesn’t show either. How can I set this post (which incidentally needs to remain in that section irrespective of new posts) please? the blog address is http://london-nerc-dtp.org
