featured image not working properly on mobile devices
“Hello, I am using your theme (Notebook) and the featured image of the is not showing as I’d like to on mobile devices. I have enable the mobile option feature, used the homepage template but when I access my site on a phone, the image is not being resized and it’s being cropped on the top left hand side corder. Is there a way using CSS to make sure the whole image resizes automatically when being accessed from a mobile device? When I view it in preview on the customize tab it looks fine but when I view on mobile devices it is as I have stated above
The blog I need help with is seemeknowme.net.
Thank you for using Notebook theme.
I’m sorry about those resize troubles! Are you talking about the single-page view featured images? (example: http://seemeknowme.net/2015/11/05/alexandria-part-2/ . Full screen image behind post’s title). If yes then the resize is done by browsers. Your images will not resize to the exact the original dimensions. Theme uses modern css technology “cover” that comes from background-size property. It stretches images based on the container height and width.
What is puzzling about this is that up until about a month ago my site worked fine on mobile devices and ipads. Now for some reason when you open it up it doesn’t show the image at all. From what I have worked out with the wordpress support team is that the image only focuses on the top left hand corner of the photograph and it’s not just on my mobile devices they also ran tests on their mobile devices. If I preview my site in the customize screen for mobile devices it looks exactly how it should and how it used to look when I first started using this theme. We have tried resizing the images and using different types. So if it is a problem with the browsers then it would seem that this theme is not compatible with any type of mobile devices since it is occurring on multiple devices which is odd considering that previously it was working fine.
Let me please investigate this issue, and I’ll back to you as soon as it will be done.
