Featured Image not showing up with excerpts

Hello– reposting:
When I click on category pages (which I have set up in my primary menu) through the customizer, the featured image shows up with the post excerpt. That’s what I’d like to see. However, when I look at the site live while not signed in to WP, there are no featured images with the excerpts. How could I fix this?
I have “Display” selected in the Content Options, and each of these posts has a featured image uploaded.
