featured image, menu, grid order

    Hiya,

    I have a few questions. We have the Business pack. I am not familiar with HTML/CSS/Javascript so I’m figuring it all out as I’m going.

    1) How do we decrease the height of the featured image in the child pages? Currently it’s a big block, but we’re not really in favour of that as we already have our header as well.
    2) We scaled down the featured image to fit the box using
    .cover {
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-position: center center;
    -webkit-background-size: contain;
    -moz-background-size: contain;
    -o-background-size: contain;
    background-size: scale-down;
    }
    But now we’re getting black strips on the sides of the featured images. How do we get rid of these?
    3) The elements of our primary navigation menu are not aligned. How can we get these to align?
    4) Is it possible to remove the white background of our logo so that it will blend with the background of the primary navigation bar?
    5) Can we change the order of the child pages in the grid?
    6) Is it possible to create the featured image header as some sort of thumbnail on which one can click and a larger image of it will appear?

    Thank you so much!

    The blog I need help with is ddintraa.wordpress.com.

    Hi there,

    1) Sorry for the late reply. I don’t know why it didn’t show up earlier in our queue. Please share a link to the child page. I can give you CSS to resize the featured image on Child Pages.

    2) Please share the specific link as like the #1.

    3) How do you want the navigation to show? Comparing to our demo.

    4) Please upload a png image with transparent background, the current logo is JPG with the white background by default: https://ddintraa.files.wordpress.com/2018/04/dintra-logo-wit.jpg

    5) The only way to change the order is to change their publishing date of each page.

    6) Unfortunately, it requires custom work/coding which is out of our support scope.

    Cheers.

    I need help! I cannot get my website set up like the Demand template. I’m a student in class and need this to be done asap for my final presentation. I’m losing sleep and my head is spinning. I paid for the year and I can’t get it functional.

    Hi @mkrdip

    1) https://ddintraa.wordpress.com/producten-2/jmp/

    2) can be seen in the childpage above

    3) If I go on any other computer than the one I am working one, the logo, website title and menu button are all on different heights. We would like those to align to be on the same height.

    4) Ok thanks! Will get one of our guys on it.

    5) Alright :)

    Thank you!

    Hi @dintraputten,

    Your site is private, please make it hidden. I can provide CSS fix for 1 and 2 quickly.
    For #3, please make site hidden, share a screenshot link, also do you see same on our demo too?

    Thank you.

    I’ve opened it to those with a link to the website!
    #3 As you can see, the words menu are more up than the other text. I could not find this in the demo as it is aligned with the other text.

    Thankyou!

    #3 navigation. I don’t see the same happening on the demo site. Everything in the navigation bar is aligned for me.
    I’ve opened the website!
    In the meantime I’ve come across something else as well. Some pages have text across the whole page and others don’t. How come?

    Hi there,

    To fix the menu height, please use the following CSS:

    @media only screen and (min-width: 1025px) {
        .main-navigation a {
            padding-top: 12.5%;
        }
    }

    .has-site-logo .menu-toggle {
        top: 12.5px;
    }

    For another issue, you are sharing the same link twice of page editing options: https://wordpress.com/page/ddintraa.wordpress.com/289, which I can’t see as I don’t have access. Please share public URL like this: https://ddintraa.wordpress.com/over/

    Cheers.

    I’ve added the CSS code you gave and the menu is now alligned, many thanks!
    I’ve also found a solution to the text placement on the page, so that’s solved.
    We still would like the featured image to be smaller in height. As mentioned in my first post, we have added a CSS code to get the image to show in its entirety on the child page. However, we would like to get rid of the black strips on the sides and also make it smaller in height. What CSS do we use for this?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

    Use the following CSS:

    #page-header {
        background-color: transparent !important;
        height: 480px !important;
    }

    Cheers.
