    I’m wondering if it is possible to set a featured image for each category. If not possible, please give me a css solution to change the text colour and background colour of category-archive-page-header.

    Always appreciate your help,

    The blog I need help with is hughshin.com.

    Theme Author

    Hello Hugh,

    By default, WordPress does not provide any functionality to upload a featured image for categories. It’s only availbile for singular pages. Thus, the theme does not display any featured images in archive views.

    To change default colors of the page header in archive views, please use this custom CSS:

    .archive .page-header {
      background-color: #ffffff;
    .archive .page-header .page-title,
    .archive .page-header .taxonomy-description {
      color: #000000;

    You can set a custom background image for the category page using a custom CSS. Here is an example:

    .category-events .page-header {
      background-image: url(https://i2.wp.com/hughshin.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/KakaoTalk_20201127_001822780_02.jpg);
      background-size: cover;
      background-position: center;

    Where events is a slug of the category (https://snipboard.io/rT7n6M.jpg).

    Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Kind regards,

    Thanks Taras :)

    Just one more thing… is it possible to remove ‘Category:’ label in the archive page header?

    Theme Author

    Sure. Please use this custom CSS to hide this label in category views:

    .category .page-title > span:first-of-type {
            clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);
    	position: absolute !important;
    	height: 1px;
    	width: 1px;
    	overflow: hidden;

    Please let me know if you have any additional questions regarding the page header section shown in category views.

    Kind regards,
