Featured content tag on featured image

    I have two questions regarding featured content:

    1. Is there any way to add something like “Featured content” as a headline in the 3 column section with featured content? It would be much clearer to visitors that that content is featured. Alternatively, I saw on other blogs that it’s possible to have a little “Featured” tag on the featured image itself, which looked great.

    2. Our featured content still appear again below the featured content section. Under Customize -> Featured Content, the checkbox for “Also display tagged posts outside the Featured Content area.” is deactivated, but it doesn’t seem to work. I checked, saved, and unchecked again as advised in another topic, but same result.

    Otherwise, great theme!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Max,

    Thanks so much for using Maxwell.

    1) The theme does not have an option for that, but you can use this CSS snippet to add some text:

    #featured-posts-wrap::before {
        content: "Featured Posts";
        font-size: 18px;
        font-weight: bold;
        margin-bottom: 16px;
        display: block;

    You can copy the CSS code and insert it on Customize > CSS.

    2) Right now I do not see any duplicated posts, so it seems to work. Please also note that the Featured Content function comes from WordPress.com, not the theme. It should not have any issues and work just fine. The theme only handles the frontend and decides how the featured posts are displayed.

    Hi Thomas,

    Thanks for your reply!

    1. That works for us – very nice, thanks!
    2. Yes, in the meantime we figured out where the issue was, and now it works just fine.

    Thanks again!
