    Hi. I was wondering if there’s any rule of thumb for which image (in a post with several images) gets featured in the thumbnail. I’d like to have more control over this. Thanks.

    Hi,

    i am not sure if i understood good but image that you upload as a featured image will be the main one, first one in the post and images you upload inside the editor under.

    Yeah the problem is that if I select a featured image, it shows up in the blog run as a double image for some reason. So to get around that I just wondered if there was a general rule of thumb which image of several in a post (without specifically selecting a featured image) ends up as a widget thumbnail. Sorry, it’s always hard explaining these things!

    Hi. Okay, I’ve selected a feature image on this page Now, when that post comes up the same image now shows twice, one above the other, which isn’t how I want my posts to look.

    Actually, I wonder if you can private email me please. I set a feature image on a post, in relation to your question above, and now the post seems to have republished afresh (it is now sitting at the top of my blog roll) and the link to it from external sites is now lost. I’m flummoxed as to how this has happened, given all I did was select a feature image, and could do with some help please.

    Actually, don’t worry about trying to resolve this. I can see it’s just too difficult to explain the issue from my end. I’ll contact the external sites and ask them to relink to the new url and I won’t bother trying to figure out the feature image thing. Thanks anyway.

    Hi,

    publishing and republishing posts doesn’t have to to with the theme.
    You can contact WordPress.com support if you have some problems with the post publishing.
