Feature Article Bug
This page… https://ncsimulationstation.com/guides/
Any time I edit it and insert a new image anywhere in the body of the page, it seems to take that same image and turn it into a giant featured image. The only way I can remove it is to delete the image out of my media library, and then it will reset to what you see at the link above. It will override the page settings even when I have no featured image selected.
I don’t see any place in the wordpress editor, html or block, where I can edit or review any code to deal with it.
The blog I need help with is: ncsimulationstation.com
Here is another example. I have a feature picture of a farming harvester in here. If I remove it as the feature image, the page defaults to a giant picture of the cooking simulator image found elsewhere on the page. No matter what I do, I can’t seem to reset the feature image to “no image” so it looks like the rest of the pages.
Hi there – thanks for the message.
Unfortunately this is the way the theme works. Currently there’s no way to disable this setting however I have made a small change to the theme that will allow it to be removed with a plugin.
This change needs to be approved by someone from wordpress.com
You can download the plugin here:
Download the zip from the top right of this page, and then install the plugin on your site. Once the code has been approved the change will happen automatically.
Thanks – Ben
When I tried to manually install the plugin, I got this error from WordPress.
Unpacking the package…
The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature
Return to Plugin Installer
Well that’s odd. I’ve not heard of that happening before.
I’ve uploaded the file to dropbox. Can you try this one?
Thank you! That seems to have worked out great!
Awesome – glad we got there in the end! :)
