MemberHi there
I’m stuck and having quite a few problems – I’m a complete wordpress newbie, I’m afraid.I’ve followed the instructions on here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/tdeditor/ to set up the featured content slideshow (like on the live demo) and it just doesn’t seem to work. Please can you help me figure out where I’ve gone wrong.
I’m setting up a magazine website so I want people to be able to register their email address with me, and I can extract it and send them a weekly newsletter with links to my site, rather than sending people blog notifications hen they’re posted. Can I do this and if so how? I’d like to be able to extract the data so I can manage my own database.
I can’t work out how to put a link to my Twitter page on the homepage (I don’t want a newsfeed from Twitter, just a link)
All help gratefully received. Thanks

Theme AuthorHello,
Thank you for using my theme.“I’ve followed the instructions on here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/tdeditor/ to set up the featured content slideshow (like on the live demo) and it just doesn’t seem to work. Please can you help me figure out where I’ve gone wrong.”
– Could you please make your site public, so I can see why it does not work.“Can I do this and if so how? I’d like to be able to extract the data so I can manage my own database.”
– You can learn more about WordPress.com Subscriptions and Newsletters here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/subscriptions-and-newsletters/“I can’t work out how to put a link to my Twitter page on the homepage (I don’t want a newsfeed from Twitter, just a link)”
– Do you want to have a social icon (see header section in the demo site)?Thank you! I now have a newsletter form, which is great news. I’ve tried to take off the privacy setting (apologies I’ve no idea how all this works).
On my homepage I can see link symbols (top right) but no wording, and I’d like to be able to add in symbols and links for all my social media accounts. Thank youtarasdashkevych
Theme Author“On my homepage I can see link symbols (top right) but no wording”
– This menu is designed to display social icons, so it cannot display words. Please see this page in order to learn how to add social icons: https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/social-links-menu/The reason why you do not have Slideshow on your Homepage is because the Featured Content tag is not set in the theme’s options.
Please follow steps that are described here: https://wordpress.com/themes/tdeditor/support/ ( see “Configuring the Featured Content Slideshow”)
Let me know if you still have questions.
Thank you.I’ve managed to make some progress but I still can’t work out how to put the featured content across two columns as it does in the live demo. Can you help? Thanks

Theme AuthorThe Category Posts Widget will display posts in different layouts depending on your homepage configuration:
If the sidebar is not active, Homepage Category Posts will have a two-column layout. The left column will display your most recent post in the designated category, and right column will display the other posts in the category.
So, you can use Widget Visibility feature to hide your widgets on Front Page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/
