Display photo's in a grid pattern that link to a specific page/url using gallery

    Hello,
    Our website is: http://www.cehe.ca we are using Organic Theme
    We would like to have “Our Team” photos’ in a grid pattern on the page. We tried creating a gallery, but were not able to link each photo to a specific page url, it would link back to the photo url. Alternatively, we placed each photo individually and added the link, but they will not align in a side by side (3 accross pattern) even though we decreased the size of each photo.

    Hi Robert,

    It looks like you have the images set to ‘align center’ which is causing the pattern as it is. Try not setting the alignment or setting it to align left instead and see if this helps.

    Hi Rebecca, thanks for responding. I placed the alignment to center on purpose until we got the issue worked out. In it’s place and for our discussion, I created a test page for us to look at:

    I have used “Gallery” method in adding media, and the links to each open to it’s respective photo page, we don’t want that. We want to link each photo to their respective bio page. For example, Jeff Masuda, (the first picture) links to:
    https://cehe.ca/ourteam/jeff-masuda-photo-2/
    We want it to link to:
    https://cehe.ca/jeffmasuda

    Hi Robert,

    I’m not seeing the test page anymore, but it looks like your original team page has now been displayed properly. If you’re using the gallery and not just adding media, you won’t be able to set the custom link I believe. By adding the images individually, you can work on the layout yourself and also do the custom links. Let me know if you still need help with this.

    I have organized Our Team however it’s set-up is very complicated and our staff will not be able manage the page. I had to manually add spaces using html code.

    I think this a big issue, whereas a picture placed in a gallery will link, but not to a specific url.

    Can I use url redirect? Or links?

    Hi Robert,

    Using the gallery layout it’s only possible to adjust the link to either the attachment page or the media file. Otherwise you would need to set it up with html as you have done. You can find all the details on using the gallery here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/gallery/.

    Unfortunately there is no ‘Team Member’ type template in the Organization theme and to use a plugins to redirect the URL is not permitted on WP.com so there aren’t many alternatives for this within this theme.
