Customize Portfolio page (no \"Archive\" header)

    I like the theme quite a bit. Though, I wonder whether the Portfolio section could be improved. Is there a way to customize the Portfolio page section? I have two needs:
    1. Currently the title is “Archive: Projects” and below “Portfolio-contents” appears – both seem ugly
    2. Some of my portfolio work is need-to-know. So, it would be nice to make either the Portfolio section password protected or to set for each project in the portfolio the visibility options so that there is no preview at all (no title, no excerpt, no image).

    The blog I need help with is marcraum.wordpress.com.

    Hi there – thanks for the message.

    To hide the archive prefix you can use the following custom css:

    .archive .entry-archive-header .entry-archive-title span:not(.vcard), .search .entry-archive-header .entry-archive-title span:not(.vcard) {
    display: none;
    }

    To hide the archive description you can use:

    .post-type-archive-jetpack-portfolio .category-description {
    display: none;
    }

    You can set a password for each project on a per project basis. This is done when editing the project.

    There’s some info on that here:

    Thanks! Ben

    Thanks Ben! These are helpful CSS tweeks – I’d suggest to make them the standard setting in your theme. I’ve read about the password settings and found the options not helpful because of a) the notifications and b) the visibility of the post (title, image, excerpt).

    Glad the CSS worked! :)

    Shame the password settings are no good. That’s a standard WordPress feature and not part of the theme. I’m afraid there’s not much more I can do there. The theme only takes care of how your site looks, not how it functions.

    It may be worth contacting the wordpress.com support staff to see if there’s anything they suggest but I imagine they will say the only thing you can do is upgrade to a pricier plan and then install a plugin that takes care of this for you.
