Theme AuthorThis is a thread for the questions from carolinacourtland carried over from https://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/topic/featured-category-displays
Thanks. I don’t even know what to call what I’m asking. It’s category links that don’t appear to have a way to control them.
On my website they would be the category links on the home page directly under the header labeled “Home” “Humor” “In the news” “General relationship advice” “Islam” “Men’s Rights” and “Politics”. The category links will change if I reduce or increase the number of articles under a given category. Like say, if I delete an article under “Humor,” another different category could pop up that has more articles in it. Otherwise, I have no clue how to eliminate them or change them.
What do you call these?

Hi Carolina
Is your website hosted on wordpress.com? Where did you buy it from? If it’s not hosted on wordpress.com then the answers may be different to if you had got it from here.
Regarding your question – you will need to set up a new menu and then assign it to the relevant menu location. There’s a video on how to do this here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/By default categories are displayed if there’s no menu setup. Custom menus are a bit more work but will give you the ultimate control and you won’t have to guess what is going on.
