CSS codes not working & custom pages?

    Hi.

    1) I took 2 snippets of CSS code from other threads here expecting to resolve the problems they were for. However, they don’t seem to do anything even after I press “Publish” to enforce the changes.

    This is the full code – “/*
    Welcome to Custom CSS!

    To learn how this works, see http://wp.me/PEmnE-Bt
    */

    #frontpage-slider .zeeslide .slide-more-link {
    display: none;
    }

    #logo .logo-image {
    vertical-align: top;
    }”

    2) How do I go on about creating a new page without the slider where I can put in widgets? Is there any way to do that? At least any way to add an extra template that has the main page options, but also chances for full post list and no slider?

    The blog I need help with is tautasspogulis.com.

    elaborating on 2) – i can’t even edit slider pages, so basically i can only make new pages other than the home page with the magazine front template?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for using Dynamic News.

    1) I’m very sorry but I do not understand what you are asking. Can you please just write what you’re trying to achieve, instead of posting the custom CSS code. Thank you.

    2) The theme supports a Magazine Front Page template which displays the widgets in the content area, from the Magazine Front Page widget area. You can use this template for the Category Posts widgets.

    The post slider can be enabled on this Magazine template and the blog index with your latest posts. That means you can deactivate the Post Slider on the Magazine template if you want.

    You can find the setting on Customize > Theme.

    Please also see the documentation, which shows all theme settings with screenshots: https://wordpress.com/theme/dynamic-news/setup

    Best,
    Thomas

    1) I picked CSS snippets from threads in this forum that sought to a) remove the 1px gap between header image and top menu, b) remove “read more” button from the slider.

    2) I meant if there are any other templates for using this theme’s widgets that does NOT include the slider.

    Let’s say I have 2 categories and a homepage. I want the homepage to have all the theme’s widgets I used AND I want the slider at the top. BUT in my categories – I DON’T want the slider at the top (or at all), but I DO WANT to use the theme’s widgets.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi again,

    1) You can use this CSS snippet to hide the Read More link on the slider:

    #frontpage-slider .zeeslide .slide-more-link {
        display: none;
    }

    You can use this CSS code to remove the 1px gap between menu and header image:

    #custom-header {
        margin-top: 0;
    }

    Please copy the CSS code and insert it on Customize > CSS.

    2) No, there are no other templates available, I’m sorry. The Magazine widgets are only designed to be used in the front page.

    Best,
    Thomas
