Just happened to open my blog today on IE 9 and it is majorly scrambled. Had someone else on another PC try too, same problem. IE8 is fine, as is Firefox. Any ideas? Also a second question, if I may, does the theme get updated on WordPress.com when there are new releases? Thanks! blog is eagleholic.wordpress.com

The blog I need help with is eagleholic.wordpress.com.

    Hi there!

Could you please try describing the issues that you’re seeing? Perhaps it might be easier to share a screenshot?

…does the theme get updated on WordPress.com when there are new releases?

Yes, all themes on WordPress.com are automatically updated. This means you always have the latest version :)

thanks for the update answer. Here is a link to a screenshot when blog is opened ie9. I didn’t include one from the versions that work but can, if you don’t see the normal screen when you open the blog (you’ll know it’s normal, with a number of shelf posts on home page) http://eagleholic.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/eagleholiccapture.jpg

    Hi again :)

Thanks for the screenshot! I cannot recreate this issue in the latest version of IE9 for Windows 7. What operating system are you using? Can you please check that you have the latest version of IE9 installed?

Hi, thanks for the quick response. The machine that is showing the issue is one at work, and we control updates centrally with Microsoft tools, so I will need to check with my staff person on where we are with IE9 as far as deployed updates. I will ask her tomorrow. Until then I can tell you that the machine is currently running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1, and IE9 version 9.0.8112.16421 update versions: 9.0.12 Hope that helps with some clue. I may be on IE9 at home too, so will check that version to compare. I don’t have the issue at home, but not sure what version I’m running there (at work at the moment). Will fill in info tomorrow. Thanks so much for your help! My site just got “discovered” (yeah!!) by the very specific audience it is for and traffic is going up quickly, so hope no one is getting that view of it! :) If so they haven’t said anything.

    Hi again,

Sounds good! Please let me know if you’re seeing this issue on the computer you have at home. It’s possible this is an issue specific to your computer at work.

Awesome! That’s fantastic to hear :)

so sorry that it is taking me so long to respond, it’s been a bit crazy here. If you haven’t guessed I work in IT and as you surely know, it has it’s moments :) Here is a little more info. At home I have IE9 pretty much same version, but on Win 7 64 bit Home Premium, as opposed to 32 bit here. It works fine at home. Which leads me to believe the problem is something going on with our IE config here in the office (which is probably good news as far as my outside blog viewers). Given what that screen shot looks like, do you have any suggestions or clues on what areas of config we might look at in IE here in the office? Since the issue is replicatible (is that a word?) on other PCs in the office. Oh and yes both home and work IE are on autoupdate and deployed generally immediately (here), so about as up to date as they can be. thanks for much for any ideas and thoughts you may have! sorry if I’m a bit fragmented in throwing this stuff at you, I have to jump in between things. But although the problem was discovered through my personal blog, it is something worth exploring at work in the event that our users run into something similar at sites they visit.

    Hi twizzkid (love the avatar!),

There are a couple of things I would like to try in order to debug this.

    1) We have two different demo sites for this theme, one on WordPress.com and one on The Theme Foundry website. Can you try both of these themes from your work version of IE9? Let us know if either of those have the same problem.

    2) Can you use IE9’s developer tools network panel to examine if anything is not loading? It appears that a stylesheet might not properly be loading.

Let us know what you find with those debug tasks and we’ll take things from there.
