The orange in the Navbar keeps coming back. We have gone through and selected colors in ALL the theme menus, we have even added CSS to the page – but every time the theme updates the orange comes back.
How do we keep the colors selected in the theme menu from being overwritten?
How do I get rid of the orange?
It is so harsh against the design that if we can not find a way to keep the color theme consistent we will have to change themes.

Thanks so much for using Tortuga.
You can change colors on Customize > Theme Options > Theme Colors, including the default Orange for the main navigation menu.
If you directly change CSS values in the style.css, it will cause the issue that your modifications are lost with each update. There is nothing we can do about that. WordPress Core deletes the theme folder and installs a fresh copy every time you make an update. So you should not change any theme files ever.
If you want to change the theme template files, WordPress knows the concept of child themes. That prevents the update problem.
