Color of Titles and Links Changed Unexpectedly?

    I’m using the Moka theme and have an issue with a color change; specifically, the color of the title to pages & posts, and the color of links, unexpectedly changed (from black to gray)?

    And, now the links no longer display a color change upon rollover.

    FYI – I’m not using the “Custom Design” option.

    It happened when I selected: Appearance > Customize > Colors & Backgrounds…

    I decided that the original (default) color-scheme was better, so I clicked “default” to go back to the white background. This is when the aforementioned black-to-gray color change happened?

    Any help is appreciated, thank you.

    PS: I posted this inquiry earlier, but then switched themes before the theme author (Ellen) had a chance to see the issue I’ve described above – sorry about that. Since then, that post (https://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/topic/titles-and-link-color-changed-unexpectedly?replies=2) has been closed.

    The blog I need help with is conservativedesigner.com.

    Hi there,

    I’m so sorry for my late reply to your question. I just tried to find the described link color issue you mentioned. But could you maybe let me know an exact example on your website?

    At the moment you seem to have the color value #6d6d6d active as a custom link color, is this correct?

    Please let me know some more details and I will try to fix the issue asap.

    Thanks for your patience!

    Hi Ellen,

    Thank you for your response.

    My Moka theme site (https://conservativedesigner.com) used to look like the demo site (https://mokademo.wordpress.com), with links (menu, blog titles, etc.) in a black color, which would turn a gray color with a mouse rollover.

    Now, everything is gray and there isn’t any color change when the mouse rolls over links & titles?

    I do not have a premium plan (hence, I do not have the Custom Design upgrade, either) – I have the ‘free’ site plan, with domain mapping enabled.

    I would like my site to, once again, look like the demo site – though I cannot understand why the aforementioned color changes occurred, or how to resolve the matter?

    Any help is appreciated, thank you.

    I’m so super sorry for my late reply again!

    I checked the code of your website again and I think you would need to set the default color settings in the Customizer (under Appearance / Customize / Colors) to default. Then you would need to save these changes again and the default Moka link styles should be back.

    Please let me know, if this is not working.
    Best, Ellen

    Hi Ellen,

    As suggested, I set the default color setting in the Customizer (under Appearance / Customize / Colors & Background) to default, and saved these changes.

    Unfortunately, this did not resolve the issue.

    In making these changes when logged in as administrator (viewing through the back end within the Customizer window), I see the following:

      the menu links display in black (but do not change color to gray when mouse rolls over menu links);

      the recent post titles display in black (but do not change color to gray when mouse rolls over recent post titles);

      the widget section titles (Categories, About, etc), do display in black;

      text in the “Big Quote” widget also displays in black;

      and, links at the bottom appear to change from gray to slightly black (a darker gray?) when mouse rolls over (rather than what should be from black to light gray, per the Moka theme demo).

    So, when logged out and viewing the site from the front end, the issue remains unresolved with all links and blog titles remaining gray…

    Hi there,

    I’m so sorry I could not look into the issue sooner. I just saw that you changed the theme on your website, Will you change it back to Moka? If so, I would love to help you solve the issue.

    Do you maybe have any caching active, it is a WordPress.com hosted website, or?

    Please let me know,
    Best, Ellen
