    Hi!

I’ve noticed that the posts aren’t following a chronological order in the front page. My blog is divided in chapters, so the posts have a logical sequence, and it’s looking a bit confusing.

The readers can’t understand which post comes after the other.

Is there an option to make the posts rearrange in chronological order?

The blog I need help with is: historiasdecasa.com.br

    Hi,

The posts appear to be in chronological order to me. Can you provide me with an example of ones that aren’t showing in the proper order?

    Hi!

I took 2 print screens but I guess I can’t send them through here, right?

Let me use the first 4 posts as an example.
    The logical order is:
    O mundo na bagagem | Capítulo 1
    O mundo na bagagem | Capítulo 2
O mundo na bagagem | Onde Encontrar
De pouco em pouco | Capítulo 1

But in the blog the last post (De pouco em pouco | Capítulo 1) appears between the second and the third posts… Instead of a linear display, it’s more like a V:
The first post at the bottom, the second and third left and right, and in the middle a post that is not connected to the others…

For us, the logical order would be:
the first at the bottom, the second in the right , the third in the middle, and the latest on the other side, following a straight line, not a V

My explanation was not the best, but I hope you could understand it.
It you prefer the print screen, I can send it also…

    Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the info. I see what you mean. When you get near the bottom of a list of posts like that, it’s a little more likely that things get shifted a little out of order. This is because the script that arranges things on the screen so they can fit perfectly doesn’t have any way of knowing the date order of things. Its first concern is making things look nice by filling in all the holes.

I don’t know if we can do anything about this, as this is a script that’s bundled inside WordPress itself, but I’ll look into this and see if there’s a way to always force chronological order while retaining the look.

    Oh, I understand.

What if I always use the thumbnails photos in the same size?
This way it wouldn’t have to rearrange, right?

It may help, but with differing lengths on titles and excerpts throughout, there’s no guarantee that would work. I’ll take a look to see if there’s another approach.
