Need help? Check out our Support site, then
Hi,
I need some help please as I can’t find the answer on the support document.
I have seen our pages being shown in google [and others] and our title for the page is showing as – for example :
Villa Rafal Antic |TEMPTING HOLIDAYS
Is there a way of changing the title that is shown in search results without changing the name of the page itself [ie the url stays the same]?
For this villa, I would perhaps want Villa Rafal Antic – Mallorca 5 Bedroom Villa |TEMPTING HOLIDAYS
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Gail

Hi Gail,
Is there a way of changing the title that is shown in search results without changing the name of the page itself [ie the url stays the same]?
It is possible to have different URL and different post title. Please understand the following points,
1. Title of the page is derived from Post Title
2. Post URL technically known as “slug” can be,
2a. Can be same of Post Title
2b. Can be different from Post Title
So, in your case you can change the Post Title to meet your need like “Villa Rafal Antic – Mallorca 5 Bedroom Villa” and the URL or Slug will not be changed.
OR..
You can change the Slug as well
Here is the example:
https://axondemo.wordpress.com/tag/holidays/
This URL will show you a post “Summer Love”, For this post
Post Title is: Summer Love
Post URL or Slug: summer
We can change the Post Title anytime and we will not change the slug and it will remain the same.
Thanks
Hi that’s great, and works really well. We have already moved up the search engines using this facility.
Thanks, Gail
