Change font size of featured content header

    The titles of the featured content sections are bolder and larger than the other fonts on the site. I’d like to reduce them slightly, or change the font entirely, to distinguish it better. Is there custom css for this? Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is rachelpenelopeart.wordpress.com.

    Additionally, if there is an option to have the title above the featured image, instead of the bottom that could work.

    My site is http://www.tigerlilybyrachel.com

    Hi there,

    I’m not sure I understand the original question. The main Featured Content title is the same size and font weight as all the other Post and Page titles. Is this what you are looking to reduce in size? Can you give me an example of a page where you are seeing this bolder and larger?

    As for your second question about title placement, this cannot be changed.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi there, so here is the example I’m referring to: https://tigerlilybyrachel.com/latest-projects/

    I don’t like that the titles of these portfolio items seem bolder (I think the font is just thicker or has a larger stroke?) than the header at the top of the page that says “Latest Projects” Can I reduce the font size of the titles, i.e. ‘GoPak’ ‘A Modern Logo’ etc. etc.? Or change the font entirely?

    Thanks!

    Hi!

    It looks like the bold font is coming from the portfolio shortcode you are using. I don’t think this shouldn’t be happening. I’m going to ask someone from WordPress.com to take look for you.

    Stay tuned. :)

    Hi again,

    I’ve “bumped” the wp.com team for this. You should be getting a reply shortly. :)

    Howdy!

    Okay, let’s override the styles that are being applied in that portfolio shortcode. Go ahead and open the Customizer for your site, then open the CSS panel. Then, copy + paste the following into the bottom of the text box:

    /* Portfolio Shortcode overrides */
    .portfolio-featured-image + h2.portfolio-entry-title {
    	font-weight: inherit;
    	margin-top: 0;
    }

    That will get rid of the bold, and remove the margin between the title and the project image.

    > Can I reduce the font size of the titles, i.e. ‘GoPak’ ‘A Modern Logo’ etc. etc.?

    Sure, you can further adjust the size by adjusting the CSS above, and adding font-size: 36px; (the current size of the text is 42px, so 36px will make it slightly smaller). There is a ton of customization you can do with CSS. This site has a lot of info on what CSS is, and how it works: https://www.w3schools.com/css/

    > Or change the font entirely?

    You can change the font across the entire theme in the Customizer as well; just look in the Fonts panel.

    Cheers!
