    Hello there!

    I would like categories to appear on my front page for each featured post, just like date and author are displayed (thought I removed the two of them). So that visitors can immediately figure out which category the post is related to.
    Is there a way to do that?

    Thanks a lot for your answer, great theme by the way !

    The blog I need help with is florarich.fr.

    Hmm, I understand your request although there’s not an easy way to do it as Spatial doesn’t support displaying categories (or tags) there.

    The reason why is because you can have unlimited categories (or tags) and it may look bad to have so many extra words in such a confined space.

    This contrasts with what displays there by default, author and date, because I can expect those to not exceed one line, unless there’s a very long author name.

    I understand you may only want to put one word there, and you have already removed the author and date, so it should look fine in your case.

    This can be done with Custom CSS. The following example code will add a category for all the posts on the initial view of your front page:

    .masonry .category-jardins .entry-meta:before { content: "Jardins"; }
    .masonry .category-autour-du-paysage .entry-meta:before { content: "Autour du paysage"; }
    .masonry .category-dessins .entry-meta:before { content: "Dessins"; }

    I would recommend limiting each post to one category if you can. It will get trickier if you want more than one word there or want one category to take priority over another.

    Let me know how this works out for you or if you have any other questions.

    Regards,
    Leland

    Hello Leland!

    This is exactly what I could imagine! Thanks a lot!

    By the way I totally agree with your aesthetic concern, several tags on each post of the front page would not work with the design you’ve created. Anyway I’m so glad you understood my idea :)
