    Hi there-

I have the Carousel Widget set-up for our site. But for some reason, I can’t get the multiple post categories to filter and display properly.

I’ve found the category ids and used them in the widget…but the widget seems to be defaulting to “All”. If I pick another category, then it will only show that category, regardless of the multiple category ids listed.

I’m sure I’m missing something obvious, but can’t seem to figure out what it is. Any ideas?

I want this section to display posts from these categories: 370958, 672923, 48514, 43427

The blog I need help with is railswimming.com.

Ok – I might have gotten it to work, but I can’t tell.

Can you confirm that you’re supposed to select on the categories you want displayed but then also list the category ids in the multiples section to get all to display.

I kept getting posts showing there, that I didn’t want. But that was when I had “All” selected.

Also – I had a question regarding the Custom Posts widget.

Not sure, I should add it here or make a new thread, but I’ll start with adding it here.

How do you get small thumbnails to display as the featured images like in the demo?

I saw that the demo uses the Custom Posts widget in the 2/3 section of the site. And that three posts are displayed – one with large image and two with smaller images.

Is this done manually? Or does the widget do it for you? I saw I could scale the featured image on my own but would hate to have to do that for each post as it “bumps” down in the widget list.

Sorry for all the questions! This theme is very different than our last premium theme. But also way more dynamic!

    Thanks!

Can you confirm that you’re supposed to select on the categories you want displayed but then also list the category ids in the multiples section to get all to display.

You need to select one category from the category drop-down menu and then add additional categories with IDs (optional). If you want to display posts from all your categories, then simply select “All” from the drop-down and you don’t need to add further IDs, because you are already filtering all categories.

How do you get small thumbnails to display as the featured images like in the demo?

There is an option in the widget to “Display Excerpts” and when you display excerpts, the widget will use the larger thumbnails. If you don’t display excerpts, the widget will use the smaller thumbnails accordingly, unless you’ve disabled thumbnails.
