While trying to change the image thumbnail of a video in “Add media”, I noticed there is no player and no mean to capture a different image. It used to work so am not sure I am doing something wrong or not.
Thanks a lot !

The thumbnail of the video would be set in Youtube or Vimeo rather than through WordPress. You should have the option to set your custom thumbnail to the video in question when it’s uploaded to either of the video services. Otherwise, I don’t believe there is an option available to set the specific thumbnail. As this isn’t a feature of the theme per say though, you can always verify in the general support forums.
The videos are uploaded on WordPress and this option used to work. If you click on the video you want to insert (in the Add media option), it does actually say something like “Play and click on capture to select the required thumbnail” but there is no player anymore and no capture button.
It looks like this feature is only available if you’re using WordPress Premium or Business plans as it requires the Video Press feature (https://en.support.wordpress.com/videopress/). If the option isn’t available anymore for you it may be that there is an issue with your account and you’ll want to contact WordPress staff regarding this.
Thank you. I indeed have WordPress premium ! I am going to have chase them now.
Let me know if there’s any problems getting in touch with them and I can tag them through here. Since it’s account details though it’s probably best you contact them directly. :)
For info; it had to do with Firefox. It was working with Internet Explorer.
It eventually sorted it out by itself.
Thanks for sharing! Glad that got sorted for you.
