i keep trying to add mp4 files to my playlist but they all say they cant be uploaded due to security reasons. why?

I can’t speak on behalf of WordPress.com on why mp4 files would be considered a security issue, however, I can provide some insight as to how the playlists function. The WordPress.com audio documentation shows that they will allow you to upload .mp3, .m4a, .ogg, or .wav files to your site. The .mp3 format would be the recommended format Encore and the custom audio player that is built into it.
