Can't shorten my blogs in the blog page

I have written excerpts (which I see as “özet”- sorry the site is Turkish, I will translate what you need to understand) for my blogs. But everytime I click “makaleler” in the menu – which is my blog page – I see all of the blog.

I would like to have a “read more” button option like the live demo. Also, hide the category or the date data from the left if possible.

I do have the CSS customising option even though I am not very good at it.

    Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you need to use the “More Tag” in your content to specify the summary/excerpt section for the template to output. You can get more details about this tag and how to use it from the link below:

Yes, that worked very well thank you!

Now I see them as excerpts at my blog page. But somehow the personalising the “more tag” did not work. I did it exactly the way the page shows.

Could you suggest me another solution? Because my site is in Turkish and now it says “Continue Reading” in Turkish.

Thanks a lot for the help.

The more tag is a WordPress core feature. You’d have to ask the support team for help with modifying it’s output. I’m not aware of any ways to use it beyond those in the document I linked. If that’s not working it it likely something specific to WordPress.
