Can't shorten my blogs in the blog page

I have written excerpts (which I see as “özet”- sorry the site is Turkish, I will translate what you need to understand) for my blogs. But everytime I click “makaleler” in the menu – which is my blog page – I see all of the blog.

I would like to have a “read more” button option like the live demo. Also, hide the category or the date data from the left if possible.

I do have the CSS customising option even though I am not very good at it.

    Thanks in advance.

The blog I need help with is polebizimisimiz.com.

It sounds like you need to use the “More Tag” in your content to specify the summary/excerpt section for the template to output. You can get more details about this tag and how to use it from the link below:

Yes, that worked very well thank you!

Now I see them as excerpts at my blog page. But somehow the personalising the “more tag” did not work. I did it exactly the way the page shows.

Could you suggest me another solution? Because my site is in Turkish and now it says “Continue Reading” in Turkish.

Thanks a lot for the help.

The more tag is a WordPress core feature. You’d have to ask the WordPress.com support team for help with modifying it’s output. I’m not aware of any ways to use it beyond those in the document I linked. If that’s not working it it likely something specific to WordPress.
