Can't crop the photos or get them into the circles

Hi, I have tried multiple times to follow the themetry set up tutorial, as well as wordpress tutorials to try to place some photos inside the circles on my Premium WordPress site/Bari theme. I feel like I have followed the instructions – but still no success. I’m a total newbie to all of this, so I would like to know whether there is a video tutorial that I could have a visual of exactly how to accomplish this. Even when trying to crop the photo to the 600×600 dimensions, after selecting that area, the Save button was greyed out so I could go no further with the cropping even.

    Thank you so much!

The blog I need help with is beebloeser.com.

    Hi Bee!

Thank you so much for using the Bari theme.

The circle photos are only handled automatically in the Bari theme on blog and archive pages. No cropping or photo editing necessary.

Some examples from your site include…

    Blog: https://beebloeser.com/blog/
Single post: https://beebloeser.com/2017/07/28/newbie-writer-old-files-that-led-me-to-write-a-book/ (circles on the right)

However, a featured image needs to be set to replace the “black circle with a camera icon placeholder” you see now.

But, it sounds like you want to get circle photos on static pages as well, with the WordPress image editor.

I don’t believe there is an option to “circle-ify” (for lack of a better term) within that, but I’ve tagged WordPress.com staff to see if they would like to respond.

    One more idea:

Since you have a premium plan, you can use Custom CSS to round the corners of all images automatically. This is the code you would need:

    .entry-content img { border-radius: 50%; }

However, you need to use square images (something that you can probably ensure in the aforementioned WordPress image editor) if you require a circle. Otherwise, the image with rounded corners will be more like an oval.

    Regards,
    Leland

If you add a tiled gallery to a page or post and choose the Circles option, your images will appear as circles.

You can see an example of a circle gallery here:
